Gillian MacLaren Jacobs
Gillian MacLaren Jacobs, born October 19, 1982 was an American actor from the United States. She is best known for her performances as Britta Perry on the NBC comedy series Community (2009-2015), Mickey Dobbs on the Netflix romantic comedy series Love (2016-2018) as well as Atom Eve on the Amazon animated series Invincible (2021). Mimi-Rose is her most frequent role on the fourth season of the HBO comedy-drama Girls (2012-2017). She has also been in films such as Life Partners (2014), Hot Tub Time Machine 2 (2015) and Don't Think Twice (2016). Gillian MacLaren Jacobs was born on the 19th of October, 1982, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her mother, Martina Magenau Jacobs, is a member of the alumni relations department at Carnegie Mellon University, while her father, William F. Jacobs Jr. was an investment banker. Her father was killed in 2013. She was raised by her mother in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Her family was the owners of the Erie Brewing Company (not to be confused with the subsequent brewery bearing the identical name) in which her father, John Martin Magenau Jr., served as President and CEO until the company closed in 1978.Jacobs began studying acting at the age of four, and also attended acting classes on weekends at the Pittsburgh Playhouse while growing up. She was a frequent performer at the Pittsburgh Public Theater. There she won the public's Shakespeare Monologue Contest. That was the catalyst for her participation in Titania in their production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. After having graduated from Mt. After finishing her studies at Lebanon High School in 2000, she relocated to New York City to study at the Juilliard School. She graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
